HA NOI (VNS) — The Asian Football Confederation U14 Girls' Regional Championship for the Southeast Asian Zone will begin on June 23 in Ha Noi.
The championship is divided into two groups, with Group A featuring defending champions Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia and Laos – the last two competing for the first time – as well as Cambodia. Group B consists of hosts Viet Nam, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.
The teams will compete in a round-robin format in the group stage, playing in 70-minute matches.
The top two teams of each group will advance to the knock-out round.
Viet Nam will meet the Philippines in the group opener.
DPR Korea have emerged champions of the East zone. China and Japan are the two runners-up.
Jordan were crowned the winners of the West Zone, followed by the United Arab Emirates and Palestine.
The conclusion of the AFC U-14 Girls' Regional Championship for the South and Central Zone has been postponed, following the earthquake in Nepal in April. Further details will be released in due course. — VNS
