HA NOI (VNS) — Ha Noi triumphed at the National Youth Athletics Championship which wrapped up in the capital yesterday.
The team finished with nine golds, four silvers and three bronzes.
HCM City came second with six golds, six silvers and seven bronzes, while Thanh Hoa came in third with six golds and two bronzes.
Yesterday, Son La's Lo Thi Hoang won gold in the women's javelin with a throw of 45.80m that broke the national record.
In the women's 1,500m, Tran Thi Tham of Ha Tinh finished first with a time of 4:35.44, followed by Pham Thi Thuy Hanh of Ha Nam and Pham Thi Anh of Thai Binh.
In the men's 1,500m, Le Hoai Phuong of HCM City took gold medal after clocking a time of 4:09.41. The silver and bronze medals went to Vo Vu Linh of Dak Lak and Lu Van Chung of Thanh Hoa.
Trinh Quoc Luong of the Military team won the men's 10,000m with a time of 34:38.72. Trinh Quoc Luong took silver for Khanh Hoa, while the bronze medal went to Luong's teammate Cao Trinh Dien.
The event attracted more than 300 athletes from 45 teams across the country. — VNS
