HCM CITY (VNS)– Artists in Viet Nam are encouraged to join the third self-portraiture contest titled
Dogma Prize in Self-Portraiture launched in HCM City.
It is hoped participants will present new and experimental ways of contributing, such as painting, such as through sculpture and video.
Photos of the artworks must be sent to www.dogmaprize.vn before September 16. Finalists will be posted on the website on September 20 and an exhibition will be held at HCM Fine Arts Museum in October.
The Dogma Prize 2013 winner will be awarded VND120 million (roughly US$6,000). Three finalists will receive awards of VND15 million each.
"The Dogma Prize reflects our belief in the importance of bestowing recognition and awards to artists who demonstrate skill and originality in the fields of contemporary painting and sculpture as well as photography and new media," said Linh Huyen, director of the Mekong Artist Company, the contest co-organiser.
Last year, more than 300 artists submitted works.-VNS
