HCM CITY (VNS) — HCM City's swimmers dominated the National Short-Course Swimming and Fins-swimming Championships with a haul of 21 gold, 11 silver and eight bronze medals after four days.
Long An bagged five golds while Quang Ninh trailed with three golds.
The Saigonese swimmers swept the team events in Hue yesterday.
The women's team finished first in the 400m freestyle relay in 4min 1.93sec, beating Quang Ninh and Long An in the 25m pool competition.
Meanwhile, the men's team took gold in the 200m medley relay in 1:44.46.
Le Thi My Thao of Binh Phuoc also took two gold medals in the women's 100m butterfly in 1:03.13 and the 400m individual medley in 5:01.19.
Duong Thi Thom also bagged a gold for Quang Ninh when she did the women's 50m backstroke in 29.56sec. Meanwhile, Long An's Tran Duc Tai took home gold in the men's 50m backstroke with 29.30.
Pham Thanh Nguyen from Long An also won the men's 100m freestyle in 52.52.
Tran Duy Khoi of HCM City won his eighth gold medal of the championship in the men's 100m individual medley in 54.64.
