HCM City triumphed at the first National Beach Handball Championships which concluded in Nha Trang on Sunday.

The team scored twice in both the men's and women's event to overcome Ha Noi and Khanh Hoa.

The top players from the three-day event will be selected for the fourth Asian Beach Games next year in Thailand.

The fifth Asian Beach Games will also be held in Nha Trang and the hosts are expected to be strong contenders.

At the second and third Games, Viet Nam picked up bronze medals, finishing behind Japan and South Korea.-VNS
