HCM CITY (VNS) — Saigon Heat will face newcomers Laskar Dreya South Sumatra of Indonesia in the second match of the ASEAN Basketball League today in the indoor stadium of the Canadian International School in District 7.
Playing at home on the back of a convincing 72-56 victory over the Indonesia Warriors, who finished runners-up last year, Heat is considered the favourite over Laskar, which will be competing in the league for the first time.
But coach Rabedeaux has not taken nothing for granted.
"It's too a difficult match. We do not know much about them. Laskar is in their first year in the ABL. We have to really take care of ourselves and not worry so much about Laskar, respect them and prepare for them, and we have to make sure we are playing well," the American said.
Laskar lost their away opening match 62-46 to the Singapore Slingers.
Heat are currently second on the ranking table behind Hi-Tech Bangkok City, which have played two matches. — VNS
