HA NOI – Heritage Space in Ha Noi will host an event dedicated to Viet Nam's UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of quan ho (love duet) singing tomorrow night.
The event will start with a talk show discussing the art form, which was recognised by UNESCO in 2009.
The talk show will feature two speakers: folk literature researcher Nguyen Hung Vi and veteran quan ho artist Xuan Mui.
Following the talk show, quan ho artists from Bac Ninh, which is considered the cradle of the art form, will perform a repertoire of popular quan ho melodies.
The event will start at 8pm. Heritage Space is located at the Dolphin Plaza, 189 Tran Binh Street, My Dinh Ward.
Quan ho singing is highly valued for its special cultural significance, performance art and singing skills, along with its unique customs, language and costumes. – VNS
