LAM DONG — The second international offroad bike race “Việt Nam Victory Challenge” began yesterday in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng.
The competition will take place in Đà Lạt City and Lạc Dương District until March 13 with 175 cyclists from Việt Nam and foreign countries competing.
Riders will compete in eight categories according to their skills, age and gender.
According to Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyễn Thị Nguyên, the annual event is aimed at promoting local tourism and protecting the environment.
The organising board plan to raise funds from sponsors for charity.
In 2015, the tournament attracted 90 riders from Việt Nam and 10 other countries with foreign riders coming out on top in both the men’s and women’s events. — VNS
