HANOI (VNS)- The V-League's Vissai Ninh Binh signed a one-year contract with Pham Van Quyen on Monday.

Quyen, once called Viet Nam's genius footballer, will receive about VND25 million (US$1,200) per month, which is in the highest salary group of the team. However, the contract stipulates that Quyen has to follow extreme discipline. If he breaks regulations, Quyen will be strictly fined and see his salary cut.

The club managers said if Quyen plays well during the first half of the V-League this season they will consider extending his contract.

Quyen has been a free player for months. He failed to find a suitable club after his poor performance last season wearing the Song Lam Nghe An jersey.

Ninh Binh are a top national club. They stood eighth in the 2012 V-League. - VNS
