Hue enjoyed a boon in business during its first Golden Tourism Week as the number of foreign and local visitors to its monuments leaped by 26 per cent.
The former capital city welcomed 42,352 tourists, an increase of 8,759 visitors over the previous week with foreigners accounting for almost half the figure.
During the week, the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre offered discounted entry to its sites and added more recreation programmes for visitors.
According to Nguyen Van Phuc, head of the centre's administration, the ‘discount week' will be repeated in September and December.-VNS
