Hue, Luat claim victory at Hanoimoi Newspaper – Run for Peace

HA NOI (VNS)—Pham Thi Hue of Quang Ninh siezed the women's open category at the Hanoimoi Newspaper – Run for Peace yesterday in Ha Noi.

Hue finished a mere second ahead of teammate Vu Thi Tinh and Nguyen Dang Thanh Thuy from Khanh Hoa.

"It is the second year I have taken part in this competitive and prestigious tournament. This year, I have seen many strong rivals who forced me to work harder to win the title."

The running event attracted more than 1,200 competitors, both Vietnamese and foreigners.

"The experience of competing in the Hanoimoi tournament will help me a lot in my future career," Hue said after receiving her gold medal.

The men's open category title went to Do Quoc Luat of Border Guard. Le Van Thao of Thanh Hoa and Nguyen Vinh Thien from Khanh Hoa placed second and third, respectively.

Tsogtbaotar Myaymarkhorol, a Mongolian student competing in the foreigners events, claimed the women's pool while Hugo Page, a Canadian teacher, took out the men's gold.

Khanh Hoa Province topped the women's rankings while Border Guard dominated the men's podium. — VNS
