HÀ NỘI — In the first quarter the central province of Thừa Thiên Huế reported tourism earnings of VNĐ737 billion (US$33.5 million), an increase of 8 per cent year-on-year.

There were 731,000 visitors to Huế City, the province’s main attraction, including 280,000 from abroad, during the period.

Around 440,000 tourists stayed in the city for several days, or 3 per cent higher that the same period last year.

Some 12,000 visitors arrived by sea.

This year the province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is running a campaign to improve the quality of tourist services, expand links with neighbouring localities and offer promotions to attract more visitors. — VNS
