HA NOI (VNS) — Nguyen Quoc Hy tied in the ninth match at the ongoing World Youth and Cadets Chess Championships in Greece.
Hy, who has an Elo rating of 1583, drew with arch rival Chinguun Sumiya of Mongolia, who has an Elo rating of 2067, after 37 moves.
With seven points, Hy is in fifth position in the boy's U10 category after nine matches. Oglaza Oskar of Poland leads with eight points, followed by Praggnanandhaa R of India and Makoveev Ilya of Russia, with 7.5 points each.
Hy will face Tugstumur Yesuntumur of Mongolia, who is in sixth position with seven points, in the next match.
