HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese master Nguyen Quoc Hy maintained his fifth position at the World Youth and Cadets Chess Championships in Greece.

Hy tied with Tugstumur Yesuntumur of Mongolia in the 10th round after 60 moves.

It is third draw of Hy in this year's event.

After 10 matches, Hy, who has an Elo rating of 1583, gained 7.5 points to rank fifth in the boy's U10 category. Meanwhile, Yesuntumur dropped to seventh place.

Praggnanandhaa R of India and Makoveev Ilya of Russia are in first and second positions with 8.5 points each. Oglaza Oskar of Poland is in third place with eight points.

In the last match, Hy will play Suleymanli Aydin of Azerbaijan, who is ranked 10th with 7.5 points.

Meanwhile, with her victory in the 10th match, Nguyen Le Cam Hien has eight points and ranks second in the girls' U8 category. Another Vietnamese player in this division, Nguyen Hoang Thai Ngoc, is ranked sixth.
