Indochina culture inspires art show

A competition entitled The Indochina Project has been launched worldwide to celebrate the culture and people of Indochina through digital media and creativity.

HCM CITY (VNS)— A competition entitled The Indochina Project has been launched worldwide to celebrate the culture and people of Indochina through digital media and creativity.

Participants are required to answer the question "What does Indochina (Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam) mean to you?" in the most creative way possible. They can submit photos, videos, musical records, written stories and digital artwork that represents their impression of the region to the organiser, the Riverorchid Digital Group at www.theindochinaproject.com before June 21.

An exhibition of all the entries will be held at 49 Dong Du Street, HCM City, on June 22. A wall of LCD screens will be set up where the works will be put on rotating display.

An outstanding participant will be selected to create artwork live at the event. There is a line-up of international artists taking part, including Rah Akaishi (Sri Lanka), Liar Ben (Viet Nam), and Peepshow (New Zealand).

Shea O'Neill, head of Riverorchid Digital, said she hoped the project would be a playground for everyone who loved Indochina.--VNS
