HA NOI (VNS) — The fifth International Kite Festival will be held in the southern coastal city of Vung Tau, about 100km from HCM City, betweenMay 8 and 12.
Themed "Vu Dieu Hoa Binh" (Dance of Peace), the festival is expected to attract 150 kite artisans from 26 countries and territories to showcase their handicraft products.
According to the organiser, in addition to stunning opening and closing ceremonies, the event will also feature several other activities, such as classes on kite making conducted by foreign artisans at the Vung Tau Tourism Fair and a traditional six-sided Japaneserokkakufighter kite contest.
Other flute kite, art kite, and lantern kite contests will be held alongside the city's Thuy Van Beach.
The event aims to promote the cultural and tourism ties between Viet Nam and other countries. — VNS
