The Viet Nam Book of Records (Vietbooks) has
recognised 10 new records on intellectual property to mark World
Intellectual Property Day on April 26.
HCM CITY — The Viet Nam Book of Records (Vietbooks) has recognised 10 new records on intellectual property to mark World Intellectual Property Day on April 26.
The records were nominated by the National Office of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Copyright Office under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Nguyen Van Binh, director of HCM City branch of the National Office of Intellectual Property, said the event honours contributions made by Vietnamese creators and innovators, and encourages innovation activities in Viet Nam.
This year, two individuals, four organisations and three provinces were recognised.
The Lac Viet Computing Joint Stock Company, which produces the most popular software in Viet Nam, the electronic dictionary Lac Viet, was among the honourees.
The dictionary has been installed in more than 12 million electronic devices in Viet Nam, including cellphones, computers and laptops.
The 81-year-old Bui Van Ngo was recognised as the author who owns the highest number of registered graphic-art works.
He has received 499 intellectual property certificates issued by the Copyright Office for his paintings.
Le Tran Truong An, general director of Vietbooks, said 10 other records on intellectual property would be announced annually on World Intellectual Property Day to celebrate activities of Vietnamese creators. — VNS
