HCM CITY (VNS) — Noted Israeli writer Etgar Keret launched one of his latest best-selling short story collections in HCM City on May 6.
Keret's sixth short story collection, entitled Suddenly a Knock at the Door, is the first literary work of an Israeli writer to be translated into the Vietnamese language. The collection has helped him to be named among the greatest writers in the world by The New York Times.
His books have been published in 36 languages in 39 countries across the world, while more than 60 short films have been made based on his short stories.
Keret has received the Prime Minister's award for literature, as well as the ministry of culture's Cinema Prize. In 2006, he was chosen as an outstanding artist by the prestigious Israel Cultural Excellence Foundation.
Keret was on the jury of the 2010 Neustadt International Prize for Literature. In the same year, Keret received the Chevalier (Knight) Medallion of France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Literature).
He will introduce his latest collection in Ha Noi on May 7 and 8, within the framework of the European Literature Days 2015. — VNS
