HCM CITY (VNS)– Five documentaries by Italian film maker Davide Dominici will be screened in downtown HCM City tomorrow, August 14.
Titled "South East Asian Portraits", the screening includes five documentaries on five people and their journeys in Southeast Asia.
They are fisherman Chu Ba, calligraphy artist Van Tien, musician Mau Yun, Cao Dai Monk Ngo Dai Hung and water puppet historian Nguyen Huy Hong.
Entrance is free but Dominici asks for support for the Dieu Giac Orphanage House in Tran Nao, District 2, HCM City. This year the orphanage is undergoing major reconstruction to protect against floods.
Dominici used to work as a model and actor in Italy before he lived in Viet Nam for almost two years.
"I consider Viet Nam my second home, where there is a strange power making people work non-stop, and I am a victim of the power," he said. – VNS
