The Japan League club Kashima Antlers is set to send a strong lineup to Ha Noi for a friendly match against the Vietnamese U23 team early next month in Ha Noi.
The Division 1 club has sent a provisional list that features its current lineup, with nine former players on Japan's national football team, including defender Daiki Iwamasa, midfielders Koji Nakata and Masashi Motoyama, and captain Mitsuo Ogasawara.
The friendly match, scheduled for June 4 at My Dinh National Stadium, is one of series of events held to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan.
Kashima Antlers is the most successful club in the J-League Division 1's history with seven titles since the league turned professional in 1993.
The club now ranks fourth on the table of the J-League 2013 and won its latest title in 2009.
The Japanese club will arrive two days ahead of the match.-VNS
