Japanese referees to officiate over V-League matches


Japanese referee Sato Ryuji will oversee the match between Becamex Binh Duong and Thanh Hoa in the 16th round of the V-League on June 12, according to the Viet Nam Football Federation.
HCM CITY (VNS)  —Japanese referee Sato Ryuji will oversee the match between Becamex Binh Duong and Thanh Hoa in the 16th round of the V-League on June 12, according to the Viet Nam Football Federation.

Sato has refereed internationally at the ASEAN Football Championships and FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He is also a referee in the J-League Division 1.

His colleague Toma Massaki will referee the match between Binh Duong and Ha Noi T&T in the 18th round on June 17. Toma has been refereeing in the J-League since 2008. He became the first foreign referee ever to be invited to officiate in a match in England's FA Cup in 2011.

In addition, Tojo Minoru will officiate one of decisive matches in the last round of the V-League on August 10. Tojo currently officiates in the J-League, and has been an international referee since 2007.. — VNS
