HA NOI (VNS)— The first journalism museum in Viet Nam will open by June 21, 2015 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Viet Nam Revolutionary Journalism.

According to the Viet Nam Journalists' Association, the museum will be located on the third floor of the ten-storey building housing the association's professional skill training centre in the Cau Giay new urban area in Ha Noi.

The organisation has encouraged individuals and organisations to donate objects to the museum.

It recently received many items, such as stoves, cameras and other belongings used by journalists during the wars.

The museum will be divided into exhibits highlighting periods of the country's journalism history and covering topics such as President Ho Chi Minh – the father of Viet Nam Revolutionary Journalism; Generations of Vietnamese Journalists; Radios, Newspapers, Television; Press Photography and Electronic Newspapers.

"The museum's exhibits will be displayed in a modern way," said Ha Minh Hue, standing deputy chairman of the association, "It will also promote activities to help attract both domestic and foreign visitors."

"The museum will become a high quality information centre on journalism science and the heritage of journalism, to serve students and members of the public who are interested in journalism," added Hue.

In the next few months, the association will focus on gathering publications from 1945 through the present day, as well as printing presses, the belongings of past journalists, important documents of the association and research works on journalism. — VNS
