DA NANG (VNS) — Finswimmers broke three records on the second day of the National Junior Finswimming Championship at Da Nang's Tuyen Son Sport Complex yesterday.

Tran Thi Mai Hue and Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, both from Ha Nam team, surpassed the old record in the girl's 50m (20.78sec) set by Long An's Dinh Ngoc Hiep last year.

Hue clocked in 20.38sec, while Ha came in at 20.76sec. Hue, however, was the record holder and gold medal winner.

In the girl's 400m immersion (diving with oxygen flask), Hoang Thi Tuyet, 16, from Cao Bang won the gold and set a new record of 3min 27.88sec. It clipped 4.54sec off the old record (3min 31.24), by Ngo Thi Khanh Tra of Da Nang last year.

Quang Binh team led the medal tally with five golds, three silvers and two bronze medals.

Da Nang pushed Ha Nam to second place with four golds, six silvers and four bronzes. — VNS
