HA NOI (VNS)– The Asian Junior Wushu Championships will be held in Manila from August 8-12.
The annual event has lured athletes from 34 countries and territories, including Viet Nam.
The organisers hope the number of participants will increase as the event approaches.
Vietnamese juniors will take part in both taolu (performance) and sanshou (combat) categories. As wushu is one of the national strong points, Viet Nam hopes to be in the top three.
The tournament is an important warm-up for South-east Asian martial artists as they have chances to practise and watch their rivals ahead of the 27th SEA Games later this year in Myanmar. – VNS
