HA NOI (VNS) — Karate martial artists bagged a silver medal and two bronze medals at the Karate1 Premier League held in Okinawa, Japan on Sunday.
The trio of Do Ha Mi, Do Thi Thu Ha and Nguyen Thi Hang failed to beat hosts Kashioka Suzuka, Kimura Yoko and Morioka Muki in the women's team kata (performance) event.
Earlier, former world champion Nguyen Hoang Ngan placed third in the women's individual kata, and Nguyen Van Nhat likewise placed third in the men's 67kg kumite (combat) class. After two days of competition, Viet Nam placed fifth, with Japan, Iran and France on top. — VNS
