HA NOI (VNS) — The final round of the fourth Korean Singing Contest will be held on Saturday at Au Co Theatre, Ha Noi.
Fifteen finalists, selected from 300 contestants nationwide, will compete to win the contest which is being organised by the Korean Culture Centre.
A video clip of the winner will be sent to the International K-Pop Singing Contest. If the winner qualifies, he or she will be able to participate in the contest in South Korea. The best Korean singers in the world will be invited to compete at the fourth International K-Pop Singing Contest.
The Vietnamese band Tuxedo and Ao Dai won the second prize at the international contest in 2012.
K-Pop or Korean pop, which has become phenomenally popular in Asia, is an eclectic mix of musical genres. "This year, the Korean Singing contest will be an opportunity for Vietnamese K-Pop lovers to display their talent and gain more confidence for competing at the international contest in South Korea," said Park Nark-jong, director of the Korean Cultural Centre. — VNS
