HCM CITY (VNS)— Famous American rocker Adam Lambert will perform tonight in HCM City with two other singers from South Korea and Portugal in a show that set to thrill his local fans.

The concert at the city's Nguyen Du Sports Complex will feature the singer, who first hit fame after finishing as a runner-up in season 8 of American Idol, together with Portuguese musician Aurea and Korea's NS Yoon G.

The trio declared themselves delighted to be performing in front of a Vietnamese audience for the first time at a press conference held yesterday afternoon.

Lambert said that he still could not believe he has the chance to sing for his fans around the world and he was excited to have the opportunity to get to know his fans in Viet Nam better.

Asked for his advice to local budding stars, the 30-year-old said that anyone passionate about singing can become successful if they work hard and don't give up on their dreams. "Believe in yourself, believe in your ability, make sure that you can do all the work and you will be successful."

According to the three artists, they will perform some songs tonight that have already proved popular in their previous shows but they are expecting a completely different atmosphere. Lambert has already performed in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Japan and Malaysia. He revealed that he is very interested in Eastern culture, especially the traditional music and fashion.

This is his first visit to Viet Nam and he has brought along his 20 friends to share the moment. He claimed he has enjoyed it so far, but is still shocked by the country's traffic.

The show will start at 8pm and is expected to last for 90 minutes. — VNS
