Latin American Film Festival to run in Ha Noi


Films from nine Latin American countries will be screened at the third Latin American Film Festival, which will run from November 11 to 14 at the Ha Noi Cinematheque.

HA NOI (VNS) — Films from nine Latin American countries will be screened at the third Latin American Film Festival, which will run from November 11 to 14 at the Ha Noi Cinematheque.

The nine films were chosen from Peru, Argentina, Cuba, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Panama, Uruguay and Venezuela, whose embassies are part of the organising committee.

"The films will introduce the unique aspects and rich culture of Latin America, which will help Vietnamese audiences learn more about the participating countries," said Luis Tsuboyama, charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Peru.

The festival will premier with the well-known Peruvian film, Sigo Siendo (I Still Am), by director Javier Corcuera.

The schedule includes: Of Love and Other Demons from Colombia, Travel to the Country That No Longer Exists from Cuba, Paradise from Mexico, The Wind and the Water from Panama, Whisky from Uruguay, Underdogs from Argentina, The Liberator from Venezuela, and A Beautiful Life from Chile.

The Latin American cinematic theme will also be strong in HCM City where the Peru-Colombia Film Festival runs concurrently from November 13 to 14. Peru will represent with the film Sigo Siendo, and Columbia with Gabo, La Magia De Lo Real.

All movies include English and Vietnamese subtitles. Tickets are free. — VNS
