HCM CITY (VNS) — Hong Kong's Lee Ho Ching and South Korea's Kim Kyung Min won gold medals in the women's and men's singles events at the Golden Paddle International Table Tennis Championships.

Top seed Lee had to work hard to beat Kim Yeon Ryeong of South Korea 11 – 9, 11-7, 5-11, 11-4, 7-11, 10-12, 11-7 in the women's singles final, which was played last night at Phan Dinh Phung Indoor Stadium in HCM City.

Kim also needed five sets to overcome his compatriot, Lee Sun Sang, in an all-South Korean final, whose final score was 11-7, 8-11, 11-8, 6-11, 12-10, 9-11, 11-5.

Earlier on Saturday, South Korea also took the gold medal in the men's team event with a 3-0 win over Viet Nam A. Hong Kong won the gold medal in the women's team event. — VNS
