With a total of 6.5 points, Grandmaster Liem ranked fourth in the event, while Chinese GM Li Chao took the title with seven points.
According to the Asian Chess Federation's regulation, the event's top five will get tickets to the upcoming world tournament in Norway in August.
Viet Nam now has three representatives at the World Cup including Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and female chess player Nguyen Thi Thanh An.-VNS
