DAC LAK (VNS)- Lienviet Postbank pocketed a ticket to the semi-final round of the Asian Women's Volleyball Club Championship in Dak Lak Province.
The Vietnamese representative yesterday defeated China's Taipei 25-15, 25-12, 26-24 to stand second in Group A. The top team is Zhetyssu of Kazakhstan.
They will play the winner of Group B, who will emerge from the match between Guangdong Evergrande of China and PFU Blue Cats from Japan later this afternoon.
However both of them are powerful contenders and Lienviet Postbank are said to have little chance of advancing.
The tournament which has lured eight strong teams is being held at the Buon Ma Thuot Gymnasium.
The winners will take part in the FIVB Club World Championship in Switzerland in October. – VNS
