Linh wins bronze at German Open


Taekwondo fighter Chu Hoang Dieu Linh has won a bronze medal at the German Open in Hamburg.

HA NOI — Taekwondo fighter Chu Hoang Dieu Linh has won a bronze medal at the German Open in Hamburg.

The Vietnamese martial artist, who has already secured a spot at the coming Olympics in London, lost 6-10 to German Helena Fromm in the semi-final round of the women's under-67kg category.

In earlier rounds, Linh defeated competitors from Australia and France.

Linh's teammates also participated in the event but were eliminated.

Following the German Open which ended on Sunday, Linh and other key members of Viet Nam's taekwondo team will move to China for an intensive training course until the end of April.

They will then compete in the 20th Asian Taekwondo Championships to be held in HCM City from May 9-11. — VNS
