HA NOI (VNS) — A live music show will feature original songs by Vietnamese composer Duong Thu and Vietnamese versions of contemporary operas, new age songs and neo-classical melodies by famed duo Secret Garden.
Titled Cua So Am Nhac 2 – Toi Mo Mot Giac Mo (Music Window 2 – I Dreamed a Dream), the show will showcase popular names like My Linh, Nguyen Thao, Tung Duong and Khanh Linh; and newcomers like Duong Hoang Yen, Duyen Huyen and boy band M4U.
The first half of the show, themed Chat with Mozart, includes songs from the album of My Linh released eight years ago; with songs by Thu and his Vietnamese lyrics for western classical music pieces like Ave Maria.
The second half, themed I Dreamed a Dream, will feature Vietnamese songs written by Thu and staged in the contemporary chamber music style. The songs are based on Nocturne and Dreamcatcher by the Secret Garden duo; Feeling Good by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse in The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd and I Dreamed a Dream from the classic Les Miserables.
"Like the previous concert in the series, titled Music Window, this concert is not only a live show but also a luxurious artful space for the audience," Thu said, adding, "The show will aim for a balance between visual and audio elements to create an enjoyable and entertaining experience."
The show will take place at 8pm, on September 21 at the Ha Noi Friendship Culture Palace, 91 Tran Hung Dao Street. — VNS
