Long An and Tay Ninh took the lead at the National Diving and Swimming Tournament in HCM City.

In the swimming division, Long An came in first with 13 golds, nine silvers and seven bronzes, followed by the HCM City-based National Sports Training Centre and National Defence Sports Centre.

Pham Thanh Nguyen of Long An took six golds, one silver and one bronze, and National Sports Training Centre's Le Thi My Thao received five golds.

Meanwhile Tay Ninh triumphed on the diving side with six golds, two silvers and six bronzes. Thanh Hoa and National Defence Sports Centre placed second and third, respectively.

Tay Ninh's Tran Bao Thu and his female counterpart Thanh Hoa's Vo Thi Dai Trang won the best diver awards for their achievements of five golds and four golds, respectively.

The three-day event attracted the participation of 109 athletes from 15 teams nationwide.-VNS
