Viet Nam's top player Nguyen Tien Minh will compete in the men's singles event at the YONEX 2012 Chinese Taipei Open Championship on October 2-7.

World No 14 Minh is seeded No 2 in the tournament after world No 7 Kenichi Tago from Japan.

Based on the draw results, Minh is predicted to progress to the quarter-finals where he will meet No 6 seed Wong Wing Ki of Hong Kong. In the semi-finals, he could face world No 21 Tommy Sugiarto from Indonesia.

Vu Thi Trang of Bac Giang is not so fortunate in the women's singles draw, facing No 3 seed Yip Pui Yin of Hong Kong in the first round.-VNS
