Mai pockets a bronze in Thailand


Nguyen Thi Thu Mai of Viet Nam won a bronze medal at the 22nd Asian Track and Road Junior Cycling Championships, which ended last weekend in Thailand.

HA NOI (VNS)  — Nguyen Thi Thu Mai of Viet Nam won a bronze medal at the 22nd Asian Track and Road Junior Cycling Championships, which ended last weekend in Thailand.

Mai finished third in the individual time trial event in the junior women's category, with a time of 16.13min.

Yumi Kajihara of Japan came first, followed by Tatyana Geneleva of Kazakhstan.

Mai was the only one among 14 cyclists from Viet Nam to win a medal in the championship in Thailand.

The Asian tournament, which also held events for veteran participants, attracted more than 400 cyclists from 41 countries. The competitions were held from 10pm till midnight over four days. – VNS
