HA NOI (VNS)– Malaysia Tourism Year 2014 was launched today in Ha Noi with a performance of Malaysian culture.
The programme at the Sheraton Hotel offered visitors a chance to enjoy traditional Malaysian dances, the art of Teh Tarik (tea ceremony) and hand-painted tattoos. Guests tried on traditional costumes and had their photos taken with beautiful young Malaysian men and women.
A tourism promotion workshop was also held by the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board with the participation of Vietnamese and Malaysia travel agents. The goal is to attract 28 million international tourists to Malaysia in 2014.
Mohd Akbal Setia, director of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in Viet Nam, said that the event was a combination of diverse activities including business matching, exchange activities and cultural performances. The event also helped to strengthen bilateral co-operation between the two nations in economics, culture and tourism, he added.
Other events will be held in HCM City on June 20 and in the central town of Hoi An on June 22 in conjunction with the Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013. – VNS
