The military team topped the national Karatedo Championships which concluded in central Quang Nam Province on Monday.

They gained four gold, two silver and eight bronze medals.

The police team and Ha Noi came in second and third respectively.

Martial artists achieved high results in kumite (combat competition) in the tournament. Gold medals went to Nguyen Phi Tuan, 21, from Quang Nam in the men's 55kg event, Vo Thu Hue, 19, of Quang Tri Province in the women's 44kg event and Bui Cong Tuan, 20, of Central Highlands Gia Lai Province in the men's 84kg. — VNS
