Dieter, tournament seed No 64, put up a strong fight to go down 22-24, 17-21 after 39 minutes.
HCM City-born Minh, seed No 7 and world No 7, will face the winner of Jayaram Ajay of India versus Abian Pablo of Spain in the third round. — VNS
