Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh was ninth in the latest men's rankings, the World Badminton Federation announced on Thursday.

Olympian Minh won 53,870 points, 900 more than Japan's Kenichi Tago who lies in 10th position.

Minh will compete in the Australia Open from April 2-7, where the No 2 seed of the tournament faces Malaysian Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin in the first round. — VNS
