HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese top player Nguyen Tien Minh has returned to the world top 20, the Badminton World Federation announced on Thursday.
The Olympian added 1,160 points to his total points of 42,720 thanks to reaching round 16 of the recent Yonex Denmark Open to move from 24th to 17th position.
In the women's side, Vu Thi Trang jumped six places to world No 53.
This is the highest position any female Vietnamese badminton player has achieved. Minh's best ranking was world No 5 recorded in 2010. — VNS
