HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam's top badminton player, Nguyen Tien Minh, was ousted from the 2015 Yonex Open Chinese Taipei yesterday.
Unseeded player Minh lost to seed No 5 Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei 12-21, 14-21 in the third round of the men's singles.
Earlier, world No 35 Minh defeated seed No 9 Hu Yun of Hong Kong in the second round 22-20, 21-3 in just 29 minutes.
This US$200,000-prize tournament is a Grand Prix Gold category tournament and is the eighth of its kind in 2015. — VNS
