HA NOI (VNS) — Local residents in 15 cities and provinces across the country have been given the chance to enjoy four award-winning French movies through a mobile movie screening programme that kicked off yesterday.
The two-month programme started in the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien, before moving to Ha Noi, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.
In the central and Central Highlands regions, the movie screenings will be held in Vinh, Hue, Da Nang, Kon Tum and Dac Lac.
In the south, the programme will continue at HCM City, and Can Tho before heading to Da Lat and finishing in Nha Trang on December 20.
There will be two screenings in every location, except in Ha Noi and HCM City where four shows will be arranged.
The movies include the Oscar-winning The Artist, the Cesar Award-wining Intouchables and the comedies Un plan parfait (A Perfect Plan), and De vrais mensonges (Beautiful Lies). All the movies will be screened in the original French language with Vietnamese subtitles. However, for the screenings in remote areas in the northern and Central Highlands, where most of the residents are ethnic people who do not read Vietnamese, the movies will be accompanied with Vietnamese dubbing.
Organised by the French Embassy in Viet Nam in collaboration with the TV operator K+, the free mobile movie screenings is an initiative to celebrate France Year in Viet Nam. — VNS
