A corner of the roof of Phu Van Lau, a pavilion monument standing in front of the Imperial Citadel in the former royal capital city of Hue, collapsed early yesterday morning (May 15). No strong winds were recorded at the time. The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, which manages the monument, said its wooden pillars were in bad shape, leading to the collapse of the roof.
