Korean Air has launched twice-weekly direct flights between Incheon Airport in the South Korean capital Seoul and Da Nang, the airline's third destination in Viet Nam, using Boeing B737-800 aircraft.

The flights are on Thursdays and Sundays.

Korean Air is the second Korean carrier to operate on the Seoul-Da Nang route. In December Asiana Airlines launched its maiden flight to the city, flying twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

South Korea is Viet Nam's second largest tourist market after China. According to figures from the General Statistics Office, more than 536,000 Korean visitors came last year, a year-on-year increase of 8.2 per cent.

Last year Da Nang welcomed more than 2.35 million visitors, an increase of 32.8 per cent.-VNS
