Motorbike stunts thrill City crowds

HCM CITY (VNS)— Daring bikers from famous Asian motorbike teams thrilled fans with an excellent stunt show performance during yesterday's opening ceremony for Viet Nam's first motorbike festival in Phu My Hung's Crescent Residence in HCM City.

ThaiStunter of Thailand, China's Wu Hei and Gabit from Malaysia turned on the style for the Vietnam Motorbike Festival death-defying stunts heat which attracted thousands of bike lovers.

The three motorbike teams negotiated obstacles such as cones, tires and barrels while manoeuvring around the track, performing a variety of stunts such as wheelies, burn-outs and drifts.

The Gabit team from Malaysia first came to prominence in world stunt circles when it performed with world famous stunt rider Rok Bagoros at several competitions. Gabit has successfully appeared in over 400 shows.

Thaistunter, one of Thailand's most famous teams, features renowned riders ZombieStunt Keng and Yupadee Vongtaveesub.

Meanwhile, Wu Hei from Shanghai has more than 16 years experience and had thrilled crowds in Viet Nam twice before with his impressive stunt performances.

Besides the high-octane action, there was also an exhibition of antique and modern motorbikes during the one-day event.

The bikes on show included classics from a host of big names including Harley-Davidson, Benelli, BMW, Ducati, Kawasaki, KTM, Pilsa, Suzuki, Triumph and Victory. There was also a competition to showcase the best examples of motorbike modifications. — VNS
