HANOI (VNS) — The first-ever Vietnam Mountain Marathon 2013 to be held on Saturday in Sa Pa is looking for more runners.

If you wish to conquer an extraordinary adventure, prepare for a marathon through the rice fields, breath-taking valleys and bamboo bridges, passing water buffalo, mountain pigs and cheering local children along the way.

The event is being organised by the Danish Embassy in collaboration with Topas Ecolodge and Novo Nordisk – the world's leading company in diabetes prevention.

The small dirt roads and narrow trails will take runners through the mountain ranges in Hoang Lien National Park and valleys that are usually closed off to outsiders.

Runners from more than 25 countries have already signed up.
