HA NOI (VNS) — On Saturday, April 26, Movie Space at the Centre for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents (TPD) will present the famous Italian movie La vita e bella (Life is Beautiful) which won the Grand Prize of the Jury in Cannes Film Festival in 1998.
The 1997 comedy-drama is directed by Roberto Benigni, who also plays Guido Orefice, a Jewish Italian bookshop owner who must employ his fertile imagination to shield his son from the horrors of internment in a Nazi concentration camp.
The film was a critical and financial success, winning Benigni the Best Actor award at the 71st Academy Awards, as well as the Best Original Dramatic Score and Best Foreign Language Film awards.
The movie will be presented in the original Italian language with Vietnamese subtitles at 51 Tran Hung Dao Street, at 2pm.. — VNS
