HCM CITY(VNS)— Several prize-winning artworks and others recognised for their unique forms of expression are on display at HCM City's Fine Arts Museum.

They were created by 91 painters and sculptors who made trips across the country since August 2012 for the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association.

"The exhibition highlights the richness and diversity of contemporary Vietnamese art," Uyen Huy, president of the HCM City Fine Arts Association, said.

The first prize went to Lam Thanh's painting Tich Tu Cua Bien (Sea Agglomeration).

A lacquer work by Luong Khanh Toan and a wood engraving by Nguyen Thanh Cong shared the second prize.

The third prize went to paintings by well-known artists Mai Anh Dung, Hoang Tuong Minh, and Le Xuan Chieu.

Most of the oil and silk paintings and wood engravings on display at the exhibition showcase the country's beautiful landscapes, traditional festivals, and people's daily life activities.

Soldiers stationed at sea and on islands feature in many of the paintings.

The 109 works also include bronze and metal works.

The exhibition at the museum at 97A Pho Duc Chinh Street, District 1, will be on display until tomorrow.-VNS
