HCM CITY (VNS) — Dozens of top singers will perform at a free gala Toi Yeu To Quoc Toi (Love My Country - Viet Nam), at HCM City's Hoa Binh Theatre tonight to celebrate the 59 anniversary of the Viet Nam Association of Young People.
The event will feature pop stars Uyen Linh, Ho Ngoc Ha and Dan Truong, and 50 young singers, dancers and pop bands. More than 100 members of the association will accompany them on stage.
The singers will perform 11 songs about the country and youth, selected from 2,000 works written by professional and amateur musicians at home and abroad, who sent their latest works to the contest Toi Yeu To Quoc Toi, which the association kicked off in July.
The contest aims to encourage song composition and love for the country among Vietnamese youngsters
The songs will be recorded and introduced on Thanh Nien Online and featured in 300,000 karaoke DVDs.
"All of our artists are happy to perform for free at the gala," pop star Ho Ngoc Ha said.
The concert will begin at 8.30pm tonight. It will air live on Viet Nam Television's VTV6. — VNS
